Barron McCann provide a totally managed installation service - from the delivery of customer hardware into our secure storage area, through to build, configuration, on-site installation and training.

Methodology

We manage all rollouts with a robust process-driven PRINCE2 methodology. For all new projects our teams will prepare a rollout programme, risk register, change control and action log; collate or write installation procedures, build instructions and site sign-off documentation, schedule installations and liaise with customer sites and contacts.

We ensure all installation engineers are trained on specific hardware, installation procedures, sign-off procedures and your localised requirements, such as site security.

Installation teams are assigned project managers, project engineers, lead engineers, installation engineers and assistants supported by technical engineers who provide support during the installation. Our unique ability to manage all aspects of the installation internally ensures consistency and reduces our operational costs.

Capabilities

Barron McCann's internal team of electricians and network data engineers can provide comprehensive power and data services to support your installation. Our engineers are trained to remove hardware so where there is a requirement to disconnect a checkout and remove hardware we can offer the service quality and cost benefits of a single team to perform all onsite tasks.

Our central installation facility in Derby encompasses secure storage for over 1,200 pallets of IT equipment, plus an overflow area that can hold an additional 500 pallets of customer hardware for installations. Throughout the UK we have 27 Forward Stock Locations (FSL) and over 1,000 locked box locations for the storage and distribution of inventory.

Our hangar and build facility has over 500 connected staging points, allowing our build team to configure up to 500 customer configurations simultaneously. We also have secure communication links into the build area for enterprise server build solutions where the customer servers are off-site and host data that is constantly changing, such as retail pricing and promotions data.

Coverage

Whilst the majority of our installation works are delivered in the UK and Eire, we have recently completed a significant number of successful implementations in Portugal, Spain, Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic - with more mainland Europe installations planned in the next 12 months.
